Secular Families

The SHL Secular Families group is a welcoming community for parents and caregivers raising children with secular values. Through playdates, family activities, and shared experiences, we create opportunities for children and families to socialize, learn, and build lasting friendships in a supportive environment free from religion and superstition. Grounded in humanist principles and progressive values, we encourage curiosity, kindness, critical thinking, empathy, and respect for others. Whether your family is entirely secular, interfaith, religiously mixed, or simply looking for a community that values reason and inclusion, we offer space for children and adults alike to learn, grow, and thrive together.

We normally host playdates at parks around the tri-county area on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. Our next scheduled playdates are:
