Secular Humanists of the Lowcountry (SHL) is a community for agnostics, atheists, skeptics, secular humanists, rationalists, and anyone who values reason and compassion over dogma. We’re an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) chapter of the American Humanist Association, and our events are open to members and non-members alike — but membership is how you help us keep growing.

What membership supports

• Monthly socials and dinners, like Happy Humanist Hour and Sip & Mingle
• Mutual aid work, including food bank volunteering and our Charity of the Quarter program
• Family-friendly gatherings, book club, movie club, and Freethinkers’ Forum discussions
• Secular activism defending the separation of church and state
