Today, we joined the nationwide Workers Over Billionaires mobilization. More than a dozen SHL activists joined over 160 Lowcountry residents for the 50-50-1 SC organized protest. This was one of more than 1,000 protests across the country. I haven’t found a reliable estimate for the total number of people who participated in today’s mobilization, but it is probably in the millions. There were protests in all 50 states, and there are already news stories online showing protests around the country. We stand shoulder-to-shoulder with patriotic Americans across the country who demand a fairer, freer, more democratic society.
SHL is incredibly fortunate to have the talented Bonnie Cleaveland in our community. She makes these incredible hand-painted signs for every protest and gives them out freely. People love her signs! They are acrylic on canvas and incredibly durable, and we see them over and over again at subsequent protests. She really outdid herself this time around. Great work Bonnie!
