Today, all across the country Americans stood together to say, “No Kings!” We oppose the anti-American authoritarian take-over of the Trump regime and the complicity of the collaborators in the Republican party. An estimated 7 million people protested today in overwhelmingly peaceful demonstrations, and SHL members were among them.
Board member Molly Flueckiger and her family opted to skip a planned outing to attend the protest in North Charleston, and were so buoyed by the show of solidarity that they can’t wait for the next protest.
Several SHL members attending the Freedom From Religion convention took a break from the con to join a really fun protest locally in Myrtle Beach. It was a joyous and defiant celebration of democracy. There was an arrest at our protest, but it wasn’t on our side!
