Come see the film Thelma with your humanist friends! Financial scams are an unfortunate phenomenon, but the very fun action-comedy Thelma imagines what happens when a fraudster messes with the wrong grandma. The movie stars June Squibb as a woman scammed by someone pretending to be her grandson. She then enlists her old friend (the late Richard Roundtree) to help get her money back.

We are going to the Terrace Theater. Seats are not assigned, but when we went to see The Boys in the Boat at the Terrace back in January it sold out, so it might be worth buying tickets. You can buy tickets online using the link below.

After the movie those who wish will be going to Pho Saigon, located just up the road from the theater at 1739 Maybank Highway on James Island, for drinks, food and to discuss the film. If you have already seen Thelma and don’t want to attend the showing, feel free to join us to discuss the film afterwards. We should get there around 5:00 depending on the number of commercials and previews. If you want to reach out to me (Tucker) ahead of time, I’d be happy to text you when we leave the theater.

Additional info:
Tickets bought online are $11. I think it is only $9 if you buy them at the theater.
The movie is 1:38 long plus or minus commercials and previews.
