Building Community Beyond Belief, Exercising Progressive Values, and Defending Separation of Church and State

The heat index was in the upper 90’s in downtown Charleston this afternoon, but that didn’t stop a dedicated group of activists from showing up for our monthly pop-up protest!

On the second Sunday of each month, SHL partners with Silence Is Not an Option (SINO) to stand up for democracy and speak out against the City of Charleston’s restrictive First Amendment ordinance.

Hats off to those who came out and brought plenty of determination—and some excellent signs. Defending our right to speak out sometimes means sweating for it.

We’ll be back next month. Join us!
