SHL was back at the Feminist Magic Market in Park Circle on Saturday, September 26, 2026 for another afternoon of meeting people, talking about humanism, and letting our neighbors know there is a vibrant secular community for them here in the Lowcountry.
It was an especially busy day for SHL. While one group of volunteers was representing us at the Feminist Magic Market in Park Circle, another was across town at the Lowcountry Food Bank’s Walk to Fight Hunger at Wannamaker County Park. It is exciting that we have enough volunteers to make that happen, and a special thanks to our Secular Families group who stepped up to cover the first two-hour shift at the market. They made it a family affair, with the kids helping out and adding some youthful energy to our table.
Throughout the day, volunteers talked with marketgoers about SHL, our activities, and the many ways people can get involved. Our tables were stocked with information about humanism and upcoming events, along with plenty of buttons, stickers, wristbands, and other giveaways. The photos capture exactly what we hope to accomplish when we table at community events: being visible, approachable, and part of the broader Lowcountry community.
The Feminist Magic Market continues to be a good place for SHL to connect with people who share many of our values—and to remind secular people that they are not alone.
