Come see the Christopher Nolan film Oppenheimer with your humanist friends! We are going to the 4:35 showing at Citadel on Sunday, July 30, 2023.
This is a bit of an experiment, but here is how we envision it: Seats are assigned at the Citadel Cinema, so when you buy your tickets you get to pick your seats. Tucker has purchases seats E7 and E8 for him and his boyfriend. Anyone who wants to go can use the link below to purchase tickets. Sit wherever you like, but we are hoping people will choose to sit together and report their seat selection in the comments on this Meetup event. Check the comments to see which seats your SHL friends have purchased, and buy seats next to them, in front of them, behind them, near them…

If this works the way we are hoping, we will all end up sitting in a group. Perhaps after the movie we can go out for dinner and enjoy discussion and fellowship with our movie loving humanist friends. That plan will have to be worked out later.
Summary of how this is supposed to work:
Step 1: Check in the comments for this event to see which seats your humanist friends have purchased.
Step 2: Buy your seats (hopefully near your humanist friends).
Step 3: Report which seats you’ve purchased in the comments.
Step 4: Show up and have a great time!
Maybe Step 5: Convene after the movie and come up with a plan for dinner or drinks
Additional info:
Tickets bought online are $9
The movie is about 3 hours long.
It is supposed to be miserably hot on Sunday, so perhaps the perfect day to spend 3 hours in an air conditioned theater.
