Building Community Beyond Belief, Exercising Progressive Values, and Defending Separation of Church and State

Last year, SHL tabled at the Charleston Black Pride Expo. On my way to the expo, I drove past West Farm and spotted the corn maze. I asked Bonnie Cleaveland if she wanted to check it out after we finished tabling, and after a very fun afternoon of drag shows, off we went! We tackled the maze, visited the animals in the petting zoo, and had such a good time that we agreed we should come back the following year and bring SHL with us.

So that’s exactly what we’re doing!

We’ll have a fun-filled autumn day at the West Farm Corn Maze! We have secured a private party shed to gather and enjoy the festivities together.

Here is what you can look forward to at the farm:
🌽 A huge 7.5-acre corn maze
🚜 Scenic hayrides
🫧 A massive farm play area, giant corn boxes, and bubble zones
🐷 An interactive animal petting zoo
🎃 Locally grown pumpkins at the Pumpkin Barn
🍖 Great local food trucks

To ensure this event is accessible to everyone in our community, we are utilizing a “pay what you can” model. While we have a suggested donation of $13, it is just that- a suggestion. We warmly welcome you to pay less, including nothing at all, or if you are in a position to do so, pay a little extra to help cover the cost of a neighbor. All contributions are completely voluntary through Zeffy, a platform that ensures 100% of your donation goes directly to our nonprofit.
