SHL members joined dozens of local activists at the Fight for the 1st march and rally on Saturday, July 25, 2026 to protest the city of Charleston’s restrictive 1st amendment ordinance. The march started at the Aquarium Garage, then proceeded down Calhoun Street, turning down Meeting Street to City Hall, and then reversing course to Liberty Square for the rally. The march was part of the First Amendment Restoration Campaign, organized by our coalitional partners with the Charleston Democratic Socialists of America.
