About ten crafty humanists gathered at Creative Studio 1 in the Wando Mount Pleasant Library for this month’s Makers Studio on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Fiber artists brought socks, hats, and other works-in-progress, including “Melt the ICE” hats inspired by recent craftivism efforts. Others came simply to sit, learn, and create together.
The spirit of the afternoon was steady and communal. In a moment when many feel overwhelmed by national events, the group chose to channel that energy into small, tangible acts of making—done in conversation rather than isolation. Makers Studio remains a simple but meaningful way to build community while putting hands to work.
