Come see the film Conclave with your humanist friends! We are going to the 3:35 showing at Citadel Mall Stadium 16 Theater on Sunday, November 3, 2024.
Conclave is a thriller that plunges audiences into the secretive world of Vatican politics, where high-stakes decisions are made behind closed doors. When the Pope dies unexpectedly, the College of Cardinals gathers in a secluded, locked chamber to elect his successor. But as tensions rise among the cardinals, secrets and hidden agendas surface, revealing ambitions and alliances that could threaten the entire institution. With an impressive ensemble cast, led by Ralph Fiennes, and including Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow and Isabella Rossellini, the film captures the intrigue, suspense, and moral dilemmas faced by those vying for the Church’s highest position.

After the movie those who wish will be going to Santis Restaurante Mexicano in West Ashley, located at 1660 Savannah Hwy, for drinks, food and to discuss the film. If you don’t want to attend the showing, feel free to join us to discuss the film afterwards. We should get there around 5:50 depending on the number of commercials and previews. Movie Selection:
The SHL Movie club normally meets on the first Sunday of the month. Films are usually chosen by a ranked choice vote. An email with the voting link is sent to the movie club mailing list about 10 days before the film.
