Our September Member Gathering on the 20th turned into something a little more memorable than usual when Terri and Keith invited SHL to their home for an afternoon of pizza, karaoke, cake, cheesecake, homemade peach ice cream—and, almost incidentally, their wedding.
Esther officiated as Terri and Keith exchanged rings and made it official, surrounded by their humanist friends. There was even some appropriate wedding-pageantry involving fairy wings and a butterfly net, because apparently a perfectly ordinary ceremony was never really an option.
Then it was time for karaoke. Deb and Rob supplied the equipment, and plenty of people took a turn at the microphone—some with considerably more commitment to the performance than others. The singing, food, laughter, and general silliness carried on through the afternoon.
Congratulations to Terri and Keith, and thanks to them for opening their home and letting SHL share in such a happy occasion. It was a Member Gathering we won’t soon forget—and judging by the photos, neither will anyone who attended.

Oh yeah, Esther will be officiating Terri and Keith’s wedding. (No, we don’t HAVE to get married😉) We have both been married before and recently combined two households full of stuff, so we need nothing; please no gifts or cards. Just your presence is presents enough. Soft drinks and ice will be provided but feel free to bring any other beverages. You might want to bring along a folding chair just in case. We live in a gated community so accurate RSVPs will be greatly appreciated.
