A dozen humanists worked with other community volunteers at our monthly shift at the Lowcountry Food Bank on August 11, 2026. Some of us bagged sweet potatoes, while others worked the cardboard compactor, but most of us packed more than 900 backpack buddies–healthy snacks that are sent home with school children who may not have enough food at home.
