Building Community Beyond Belief, Exercising Progressive Values, and Defending Separation of Church and State

Christian nationalism has moved from the political fringe into the halls of power. What does that mean for American democracy, church-state separation, and our future?

Join the Secular Humanists of the Lowcountry for a free screening of the new documentary Bad Faith 2026: Christian Nationalism in Power, followed by a community discussion.

Building on the acclaimed 2024 documentary, Bad Faith 2026 includes new material examining the implementation of Project 2025 during convicted felon Donald Trump’s second term and explores how Christian nationalism has translated from a political movement into government policy.

This special screening is part of the national Good Trouble Lives On Weekend of Action, a nationwide effort to educate, organize, and inspire civic engagement in defense of democracy.

Event Details:

2 PM on Saturday, July 18, 2026
Community Room A
Wando Mount Pleasant Library
1400 Carolina Park Blvd.
Mount Pleasant, SC 29466

Following the 77-minute film, we’ll host a moderated discussion where attendees can reflect on the documentary’s themes, ask questions, and explore what citizens can do to protect democratic institutions and religious freedom.

Whether you have been following the rise of Christian nationalism for years or are just beginning to learn about the issue, this event is an excellent opportunity to become better informed and engage in thoughtful conversation with others in our community.

Admission is free, but we encourage you to RSVP on Meetup so we have an idea of attendance.

We hope you’ll join us for what promises to be an important and timely discussion.
