Join your humanists friends for our September member gathering where Frank W. Baker will be leading an interactive workshop on Media Literacy: Critical Thinking for the 21st Century. Frank W. Baker is highly lauded in the field of media literacy. He is a former Educational Consultant at SCETV, and has taken the Media and Information Literacy-related message to schools in the US, as well as in Singapore, Mumbai, India and Nairobi Kenya for more than twenty years. He is the creator of the Media Literacy Clearinghouse website, a resource for educators that promotes the importance of young people applying critical thinking to media messages. His work has been recognized by the National Cable TV Associations (Leaders in Learning Award), the National Telemedia Council, and he is a recipient of a Lifetime Achievement award from the South Carolina Council for Social Studies.
