SHL is a silver sponsor of 5000 BLACK: Afro Futurist Art Exhibition Series (Jan. 17th to Feb. 2nd). 5000 BLACK is a continuation of the X000 BLACK series of Afro-Fututurist exhibitions co-hosted by Zania Cummings & Marcus McDonald that have taken place throughout Charleston since 2023.

The theme for 5000 BLACK is Afro-Optimism, paying homage to the legendary Octavia Butler’s speculative fiction novel Parable of the Sower. 5000 BLACK is a fundraiser for Fresh Future Farm, a local Black owned urban farm advocating for food justice and providing mutual aid to communities throughout the Charleston Tri-County area. SHL raised money for Fresh Future Farm as our Charity of the Quarter in Q1 2024.

There 4 parts to the current series.
