SHL Monthly Meeting - Sunday, 1/18/15

The following e-mail announcement was sent by Amy Monsky to the Monthly Meeting Reminders mailing list:

The Secular Humanists of the Lowcountry is starting 2015 off with an amazing speaker! Horus Gilgamesh is the

author of the #1 Amazon Bestseller Awkward Moment's (not found in your

average) Children's Bible. You won't want to miss this one!  Please join us this Sunday, 1/18 for the January 2015 meeting of the Secular Humanists of the Lowcountry:

  • "Why I care! A Case for Secular Evangelism" a talk by Horus Gilgamesh
  • Time: 4:00pm, 1/18/2015
  • Place: Gage Hall, 4 Archdale Street
  • Cost: Free and open to the public
  • Dinner: Sticky Fingers in Mount Pleasant ~6pm
  • After many years of full-time ministry around the globe, Horus left his

faith behind and began the journey to become a bestselling author and

activist to strategically challenge the status quo of Christian culture

and Biblical literacy in America today. The author will share how his

own beliefs have dramatically shifted since the release of his first

book and how he once again considers himself an active evangelist of

    reason. Horus recently made headlines

after receiving multiple death threats that forced him to cancel his

appearances at the Atheist Alliance of America National Convention and

he will reveal to our group who he believes is responsible. Despite

writing under a pen name to avoid the limelight, Horus continues to

provide the atheist community with a unique voice of compassionate

urgency and wry wit. Please join us for an engaging conversation, a

sneak peek at upcoming projects, and a few surprises.

I hope to see you there!

    Amy Monsky
