SHL 20 Year Party Planning

The following e-mail announcement was sent by Amy Monsky to the SHL News and Updates mailing list:

We are celebrating 20 years of being godless in the Holy City this

year!  We have a fun party planned on Saturday, 9/20, at Cypress

Gardens, but we need your help planning it!

We are renting Dean Hall at Cypress Gardens, and we have it from 10am

until 1pm.  We are dividing the day into 2 parts:  10am-4pm will be a

public outreach program and 4pm-? will be our party.

10am-4pm will include kids programs (including hopefully an indoor

planetarium), cotton candy, Ask an Atheist table, silent auction, and a

advertised discussion with other religious leaders moderated by P&C

Adam Parker.  This part of the day is open to the public and is intended

to be a fun festive event to let people know more about us.  Admission

to the park is free for all SHL members.

4pm-? will include hors d'hourves, a catered meal by Taco Spot,

musical entertainment, and a presentation and entertaining performance

by Michael Newdow.  Admission is free to all SHL fans.  Dues-paying

members eat free!  Non-dues paying members can purchase meal tickets.

So here's where we need you!

We need to plan all this fun stuff!  We need volunteers to help run

these 2 events.  Are you a musician?  We'd love to have you perform!  Do

you have another talent, perhaps juggling?  We need you, too!  We want

to have a silent auction, so if you have goods or services - or can

solicit goods or services - to donate, we'd really appreciate that.  We

need help with advertising this - creating flyers, posting them,

everything.  If you are an event planner, we could use your help!

20 years of being godless in the Holy City is a BIG DEAL and we want

to make it one!  If you are able to help plan this in any way, please consider coming to our planning meeting on Thursday, July 27 at 7pm at the home of Sue Edward, 20 Wespanee Drive, Charleston.

If you are not able to come to the meeting, but would like to help by staffing the event or providing another service, please email me.

Thanks!
