|Volunteer opportunity: Colonial Dorchester Historic Site|
The following e-mail announcement was sent by Laura Kasman to the Volunteer Network mailing list:
We hope you will join our team of SHL volunteers on Saturday April 12 from 8:30AM until 1:00PM as we improve the park grounds at Colonial Dorchester Historic Site.
This outdoor activity is appropriate for all ages and should be really pleasant. The main tasks will be trimming back plants, putting out mulch, and filling holes in paths in this beautiful and archeologically important state park. But it is a big job and we need all of the help we can get. So, we do hope that you will be able to participate.
We are working on this project as part of Summerville Cares Day of Service. This is good news because SHL is listed as a partner organization on their Website, and also because we are invited to join the rest of the volunteers for breakfast at 8AM and a hot dog cookout for lunch at 1PM just before and after the volunteer activity. The only bad news is that there will be a LOT of volunteers there, most of whom are not from SHL, making it difficult for us to get together. (When you arrive, you should look for us holding an SHL sign near the registration desk.)

If you are planning to be there, please reply to this e-mail to let us know.
