|November Volunteer Activity: Adopt-a-Highway on Sunday|
The following e-mail announcement was sent by Laura Kasman to the Volunteer Network mailing list:
Our next Adopt-a-highway pickup will be at an unusual time on a special day. The November pickup will be on Sunday, and moreover will begin towards the end of that morning's total eclipse of the sun. (That's sure to be a unique experience!)
As always, participants get a sense of accomplishment from making the world a better place. And, significantly, a sign saying that the road is kept clean by "Secular Humanists" helps us let people know that we exist and that we care.
Please join us on Sunday, November 3rd. We will meet at 9:50 am in the parking lot of the First Federal of Charleston Bank on Harbor View Rd, James Island. Itís right next to the Piggly Wiggly. If you have any questions, reply to this message or call our Adopt-a-Highway liaison Roger at 843-224-9360.
