Surf Seining - SHL Youth Activity

The following e-mail announcement was sent by Amy Monsky to the Family Friendly Activities mailing list:

----------------------------

Greetings!! Through the school year, SHL offers a monthly event for our younger members. While these activities are scheduled for and with kids in mind, everyone is welcome to come. September's youth activity is surf seining, which is something we did a few years ago and is back by popular demand. This particular activity has a target audience of school-aged kids, but younger children will enjoy it as well.

On Saturday, September 15 at 1pm we will have a surf seining trip to Beachwalker Park on Kiawah Island. There, a Charleston County Park & Recreation staff member will help us pull a net through the surf and learn about the critters we find (they will be released afterward). This program has been scheduled exclusively for our group.

The program starts promptly at 1pm, but those who are interested in more time for socializing can arrive at noon for a byo picnic lunch on the beach.

Space is limited, so RSVPs are required. If you would like to come, please let me know how many people will be attending by emailing me at SecularCharlestonMom@gmail.com by 9/14.

When: Saturday, September 15 at 1-2pm

Where: Beachwalker County Park on Kiawah Island

Cost: $5 each for adults and kids ages 4yo and up. Free for kids 3yo and younger. This fee includes admission to the park. This will be payable to me (they require one group payment). I accept cash or checks, but please bring the exact amount. If you would like to make a paypal payment, please email me for the correct address.

Have a great weekend!
