Secular Homeschooling

Homeschooling seems to be a growing trend, and just as with general SH parenting support, secular homeschooling support can be a little hard to come by. I have begun homeschooling one of my children and several of the other SH parents I know also homeschool. We use a variety of methods and approaches and we don't have an official homeschooling group per se, but having each other for support has been wonderful. I guess I'm wanting to let others who are interested in homeschooling (or do homeschool already), but are having trouble finding anything other than Christian support and materials, or don't know where to begin, there is a group of us out there. Please feel free to comment on this thread or to email SecularCharlestonMom@gmail.com for more information.

Re: Secular Homeschooling

Dale McGowan recently blogged about secular homeschooling. It is entitled "Secular homeschoolers: Darwinfish out of water," and you can read it here: http://parentingbeyondbelief.com/blog/?p=3709

Here is an article about a group of Humanist Homeschoolers in Portland, Oregon. Their group was featured in Dale McGowan's Parents Beyond Belief blog in January.
