Nice essay about the perils of abandoning church/state sep

Senatorial candidate Ken Buck is proudly proclaiming that he disagrees with the idea of the separation of church and state.

Gustav Niebuhr thinks the consequences through for him, since Buck apparently hasn't.

I think the first important step towards abandoning church and state is taking a hard line on churches who preach politics from the pulpit, stripping them of their tax exempt status. This happens far too often and is rarely enforced.
