Where does one person's right to religious freedom end and another's start? It is a tricky issue. One example is the case of a landlord who refuses on religious grounds to rent an apartment to an unmarried couple.
Recently released memos by Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan reveal her thoughts on this case and others like it. The only thing I can say is that she does not seem to be an extremist of any kind; she is close enough to the middle that it is difficult to predict how she'll vote on any given issue.
