Phleps-a-thons - is it too late to have one in Charleston?

Thanks to an SHL friend, I just heard about this way to make a positive response to the Westboro Baptist Church's message of hate towards the LGBT community.

It's simply this: people from all over the country pledge a certain amount per minute of a particular WBC demonstration, and this group goes to the WBC demonstration and times it. For every minute that they picket, the pledges get donated to a local LGBT group. At 5 minute intervals, the Phelps-a-thon folks hold up a sign with the running total of donations earned for the WBC people to see. I'm not sure if it will stop the WBC demonstrations, but its a way to respond positively. I like it. See the link below for more information.
