|a christian proud of his "empty mind"|
The coach of the US Olympic archery team was quoted in a recent NY Times article. I know that this doesn't come out sounding quite as he had intended, and as someone who hates being misquoted I am sympathetic for how bad he must feel about the way it came out. But, since I am not sympathetic to his attempts to use his job as a means to proselytize his religion to young athletes, I still think it is pretty funny!
According to the New York Times (in this article):
|To be an effective archer, Lee said, athletes must learn to clear their heads and focus. “If you are Christian,” he said, “then people can have that kind of empty mind.”|
