on becoming non-religious

I was reading the discussions on "How I became non-religious" on the SHL web site. I thought I would share mine since I find it quite humorous. I was brought up as a Lutheran, and never really questioned my religion seriously. That is, until I was 18 and took a philosophy class. We were required to write a paper on whether or not God existed, and I began my research wholeheartedly. When I came across many problems in trying to prove that God did exist, I decided I could write a much better paper showing that God did not exist. Nevertheless, it was a very convincing paper; I had convinced myself!!! I received a well-deserved A+, as well as a new, open-minded outlook on things!
